Meet JoAnna

JoAnna Mendoza, or Jo as friends and family call her, was born and raised in Eloy, Arizona. She grew up in a farmworker family, experiencing firsthand the challenges of poverty in a rural area. Despite their hard work, her family often struggled to make ends meet. This experience instilled in JoAnna a strong desire to give back to her community and embark on a career of public service. At 17, JoAnna joined the Marines, starting a 20-year career in the military. She became a Drill Instructor and witnessed the immense sacrifices made by service members during deployments to combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan. she returned to Arizona to raise her son, Aiden, as a single mother.

JoAnna is dedicated to serving the communities that shaped her. A lifelong servant leader, she is deeply committed to tackling the challenges facing her district, including reducing the cost of food, gas, and housing. She understands the struggles of Arizona's families and is dedicated to serving the communities that shaped her. She’s battle tested and ready to fight for real results that help Arizonans thrive.
